About Us
Kia ora & Welcome!
We believe women can do anything - sometimes all that's needed is the opportunity, encouragement and a supportive place to start. That's why we've created a friendly, judgement free space where women can pick up the tools, build confidence and learn practical skills together.
We're a registered charity, proudly partnering with local organisations and community groups to empower women and strengthen our community across the Whakatipu region.
Our workshops are one of the most popular ways to get involved. They provide an inclusive, welcoming environment where women of all ages and experience levels can learn to use tools, develop practical skills and create a range of woodworking projects.
Whether you're picking up a drill for the very first time or already have some experience, there's a workshop to suit you and support you on your woodworking journey.

Our New Women's Shed is Built!
We're excited to celebrate the opening of New Zealand's first purpose built Women's Shed! A milestone made possible by the incredible support of our sponsors, funders, members, volunteers & wider community.
Our new shed is a true reflection of what women can achieve. From planning, project management, construction & hands on working bees, this has been a proudly female led build.
Our new space is more than just a building. It's a space built by women, for women, and a testament to the strength of community.
