About Us
Kia ora & Welcome!
Here at the Women's Shed, we reckon women can do anything blokes can - sometimes they just need the opportunity and encouragement to give it a go. We’re here to offer a friendly, no-judgement space where women can pick up the tools, build their confidence, and learn practical skills together.
We are a registered charity, and proudly partner with other local organisations and groups to help build the capacity of women across the Wakatipu region.
Our workshops are an incredibly popular way to work with us. We offer an inclusive and welcoming space for women of all ages and backgrounds to learn how to use tools and build a variety of projects.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, we've got a workshop that will suit whatever stage you're at in your woodworking journey!

NEW SHED UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Demand for workshops and a drop in tool use space has been so big that we’re building our own shed!
Our purpose built shed is currently under construction at Country Lane in Queenstown and is due to be completed early May.
Workshops will be running in the new Queenstown shed from May onwards & planning for bringing our workshops to other regions in New Zealand will be a priority because we believe every woman should have the opportunity to learn how to use tools.
f you don’t want to wait till we come to you, in the new shed you can come to us! We will be running weekend workshops where you’ll be able to learn all the skills from our ‘Intro to Tools’ workshop over 2 days during an epic girls weekend!
